HOW TO DECORATE A WEDDING CAKE TUTORIAL

Here’s another video we created for Love My Dress but forgot to post on our own blog.

We worked with luxury cake designer Janet Mohapi-Banks and vintage inspired wedding planner Tiffany Grant-Riley to create a little video tutorial on how to decorate your own shop bought wedding cake and how to make a sugar rose with sugar paste.

We spent the afternoon with the pair and just let them do their thing. Janet showed Tiffany how to create a sugar rose from sugar paste and then apply a little icing swag to your cake.

The whole thing took about 5 hours to film but we worked our magic to give you everything you need in just 7 minutes.

This was quite a hard one for me to watch as I loooooooooove icing and always have to lick the bowl (and maybe make a little more icing as well). But we had to remain professional and just watch.

HEY! WE HAVE AN EDUCATION BLOG NOW

Look up to see our blog links

So now we’ve given our new blog a chance to settle in we thought we would let you know about those two curious links at the top. The ones which say “THE LATEST & GREATEST” and “SOCIETY OF MOVEMENT“.

To help keep things clean we have decided to keep all our education related posts separate. So under THE LATEST & GREATEST you will find all our regular blog posts, weddings, new videos, that kind of stuff. Under SOCIETY OF MOVEMENT you will find all our education related posts aimed more at those in our industry or those who are just curious.

What we hope to do from this point onwards is whenever we post a new highlights or video is to also post a technical write up in the education blog. So make sure you bookmark it or pop back regularly to find out what we’ve got going on. If you head over there now you will see a wonderful little tutorial on how we manage the 12 minute limit on DSLR cameras.

LOVE MY DRESS SUMMER SOIREE

I can’t believe I forgot to post this to our own blog.

Back in the summer we filmed the wonderful Love My Dress Summer Soiree. As with everything we do the plan was to tell the story of Annabel and her event, rather than show what most do and just the evening fun. We wanted to show just what went into creating this fabulous day from the setting up of the room, the hair and makeup and of course, the evening fun.

We took along Gavin & Alex so they could charm the room while we remained behind the camera… working.

I won’t go into too much detail about the whole event as you can read all about it on Love My Dress by clicking here. Suffice to say we had a wonderful time and look forward to the next one.

By the way, the video has some nipple pastie covered nudity courtesy of the amazing Vicky Butterfly so probably not safe for work. If you are at work, why not live dangerously and give it a click anyway.

BEN, I KNOW YOUR GOING TO FALL IN LOVE WITH ME… | THE BERKELEY HOTEL, LONDON

This is what Amy said to Ben, very soon after they met.

Amy and Ben had met by chance; a meeting on the hight street, in a cafe. Soon after, Amy told Ben that it was inveitable that he would fall madly in love with her, and there was nothing that anyone could do to stop it :) Oh how right she was. A union that was just meant to be.

The day started with all the girls getting ready at The Berkeley in London, with lots of excitement about how the Chuppah would look at the synagogue – sneakily, Danny was able to send a picture to Julie whilst filming, so that Amy could get a sneak peak.

It was clear that everyone present at the celebration, even Lord Sugar himself, was an important person in the lives of the couple – family was such a key part of the day.

For the filmmakers out there you might want to have a read of our behind the scenes write up by clicking here.

ANDREW & JESSICA | DESTINATION WEDDING IN THE CARIBBEAN

This is the story of Andrew & Jessica. A vision of beauty and a gentle giant who had their destination wedding week on the island of St Maarten in the Caribbean.

Notice that I said week, not day. What we produced for Andrew & Jessica was something new, something very special. Rather than just film the wedding day itself we wanted to tell their wedding story. Andrew & Jessica has planned a week long coming together of their two families, so when the wedding day itself came around no one felt uncomfortable, no one felt like they had to sit in the corner as they knew no one else, ourselves included. By the end of the week we knew almost everybody.

Something that is becoming more and more frequent for us is our couples asking us who we would recommend to capture the stills for their day. We know many talented photographers but after getting to know them we had only one man in mind. The amazingly talented Bandele Zuberi. When you see his website you would be forgiven for thinking all those you see are models or staged for a magazine photo shoot. They are infact just regular folk who decided to get married and bring Bandele along for the ride. He has this way about him, this talent where he can get those fantastic shots from regular folk. He can also read the light as if it speaks to him.

Anyway, I digress. For their week of activity Andrew & Jessica planned all sorts for their families. We had volley ball on the beach (including the obligatory Top Gun moments), creole BBQ cooking with dancing and a bonfire, drinks and snorkeling on a catamaran. And, of course, a wedding.

They also made their day totally theirs. Not only did they say their own vows but the union was performed by Jessica’s own brother, Jason. To be able to involve a family member in that way is so personal, so intimate, and so unforgettable. This is why you hear the person delivering the opening words sounding emotional themselves.

Over the past 4 years since we started we have learnt so much, and this film combines all the skills and passion we have for storytelling into one neat package and gives you an idea about how our future films will look. Since filming this we have launched our new Dream Cinema Collection, which offers multiple days coverage for those who have their own amazing story to tell.

For our fellow filmmakers or those just curious check out our behind the scenes write up from this wedding.

I have waffled on enough. So kick back for the next 6 minutes or so and enjoy the story of Andrew & Jessica.
