We are very excited to announce that we can now offer Blu-Ray to our couples, past and future.

We create all of our Blu-Ray movies in full 1080p HD which gives unsurpassed levels of detail and sharpness along with beautiful vibrant colours. Being able to see every last detail and button in your dress is just beautiful. To get an idea of how good HD is just check out any of our video’s here on our blog as they are all in 720p HD.

For anyone with a wedding in 2010 and our ‘Dream’ package then Blu-Ray is included as standard (if you want it). For any of our 2009 couples and those with our ‘Simple’ package you can upgrade to Blu-Ray for just £100 for the first copy and then only £50 for each additional copy.

If you havn’t yet made the leap to Blu-Ray then now is a good time. ebuyer have an excellent Blu-Ray player for just £89.99 which will also play back your old DVD’s and upscale the image to HD. For this shoot we brought along our new assistant, Paul Doherty. Equipped with his shiney new Nikon D90 and a few choice lenses we asked Paul to take a few snaps which we can later use on Julie & Joe’s DVD menu’s.

A few Photoshop clicks later I think he managed to create some truly spectacular shots which we will use later in their production. But for now, here are a few choice shots.

I think the best way to describe this piece is “The little things” – those magical moments which make your wedding day special, from the little laugh from your best man during the hymns, or the moment you realise your wedding ring doesn’t fit.  It’s all these things which make your wedding movie something special and that little bit un-expected.

We feel like we could have sold our services hundreds of times over on particular days, but once a date is booked, its booked!

To try and get around all you brides out there wanting to use our services, but cant because we already have a booking on the date you are getting wed, or that we don’t cover that area, we were thinking about putting together a second unit of videographers.

This would mean the same excellent service that we already offer, but from a different group of people.

So, the search is on to find the best, most dedicated set of freelance videographers that would like to work with the Mintyslippers brand.

You must have all your own equipment and ideally own and operate a Steadicam/Glidecam device.

We have always created our DVD’s using Dolby® Digital sound, which produces the same audio quality you have come to expect from big budget Hollywood movies but now we have their permission to use the logo on our work to prove that what we create really is of the highest quality.

But the best bit is not the fact we get to use the logos but that the paperwork came back in a nifty plastic wallet with the Dolby logo on the front. How sexy is that!

We like to think of ourselves as part of the wedding video revolution that is taking place. Where boring, slow, all black and white video’s are a thing of the past and where new, up beat, make you wanna just smile video’s are taking over.

Next year we are off to Austin Texas to take part in Re:Frame 09, a 3 day event which celebrates everything we do as well as a chance to pickup some super cool tips.

So what is the Re:Frame Collective? The Vision on the website says “Re:Frame is a community of storytellers who came together in 2007 with a clear vision: that begins an event filmmaker is pretty freak’n cool, and it’s about damn time we have a movement that reflects that.”

With members and speakers like our hero Patrick Moreau of StillMotion.ca and Philip Bloom we’re hoping this little holiday will help us push the standard of wedding video’s in the UK even further.
